Incumbents unchallenged for most area village seats

Village election day on March 20 isn’t likely to bring many surprises except in Dresden.

In Penn Yan, Dundee and Rushville, incumbents are unchallenged in their re-election bids, but in Dresden, village voters will have to write in their candidate, since no one has turned in petitions for the seat being vacated by Tom McGuigan.

Here’s a rundown of elections in other area villages:

Penn Yan
Three village trustee seats with four-year terms and one seat with a two-year unexpired term will be on the ballot. Candidates for the four-year term seats are Michael Christensen, Christine Christensen and Richard Stewart. David Reeve is seeking election to the seat he was just appointed to after Wayne Davidson’s resignation in December.
Village Justice Danny Hibbard is also seeking re-election.

Dundee
Seats on the ballot in Dundee include village trustee seats currently held by Judy Duquette and Larry Howell and the village justice seat held by Paula Seeley. The terms are four years.

Rushville
Rushville Mayor Jon Bagley and village trustees Tim Jabaut and Dave Field are all seeking re-election. Each seat carries a term of four years.
