A Republican area congresswoman attacked Attorney General Eric Holder as he appeared before the House Oversight Committee.
The panel is investigating the death of a border patrol officer, killed by a Mexican drug cartel allegedly armed with weapons provided as part of a Justice Department STING operation gone wrong.
Congresswoman Ann Marie Buerkle, who has already called for Holder to resign, complained that Holder was trying to escape any responsibility in the shooting death.
“How many more border patrol agents would have had to die as part of Operation Fast and Furious for you to take responsibility?” questioned Congresswoman Buerkle.
“As a member of Congress, I mean, really. Is that the way in which you want to be seen. You want to be known,” said Eric Holder, U.S. Attorney General.
Holder said the question was, “beneath a member of Congress.”
Buerkle later called Holder’s testimony disgraceful.
