Albany media outlets are reporting that Governor Andrew Cuomo told reporters this week that New York State Government cannot afford to pick up the cost of Medicaid from county governments.
State Senator Tom O’Mara (R, Big Flats) says Cuomo is wrong. “It’s unrealistic for the state to keep believing that local governments can find a way to handle escalating local Medicaid costs in the face of the 2-percent property tax cap the state imposed as part of this year’s state budget,” O’Mara said.
